Charming style, great temperament and good motoring technique. These are the traits that decreed the success of the Alfa 147 together with the very personal interior. Those who loved to drive, then, found in the "small" Alfa a compact capable of ensuring brilliant behavior on any track, always giving those who sit at the wheel great sensations. A few months after the launch of the 156 GTA and Sportwagon GTA, more precisely in October 2002, Alfa thus presented the most extreme variant: the 147 GTA.

The acronym identified a range of cars that were the absolute interpretation of the brand's values ​​of sportiness. Models that in spirit drew directly from a great tradition of racing and victories; while for engines and mechanics it represented a sophisticated and very current proposal. The suspension scheme of the Alfa 147 GTA consisted of the formidable coupled high wishbone in front (it was the only car in the segment that adopted it) and an evolved McPherson behind.

The technical choice, in essence, which already decreed the success of the Alfa 147 and which, suitably adapted to the different characteristics of the new car, ensured the Alfa 147 GTA excellent dynamic performance and, at the same time, excellent comfort. These were suspensions that were born from a long and careful tuning work, carried out on the basic scheme, with the aim of reaching the highest level of driveability and agility. In order, therefore, to ensure maximum dynamic performance of the car, allowing those sitting behind the wheel to better master the sporty behavior that characterized the car.
